Expedition Guide Training

expedition canoeing

The fine art and science to loading up a canoe. Wind River, Yukon Territory

After traveling a combined distance of over 20,000 km by canoe in the wilderness, instructors Keiran Rankin and Charles Ruechel have learned a trick or two about operating a successful canoe expedition.  It requires an incredible diversity of skills; people management, leadership, canoeing skills, map reading, communication, back-country cooking, leave-no-trace camping practices, and tarp construction – to name a few!
