Swiftwater canoe rescue courses

Home Β» Paddling School Β» Swiftwater Canoe Rescue Courses

a swiftwater rescue COURSE SERIES
DESIGNED FOR canoe guides, instructors and paddlers!

These courses, created and sanctioned by the Recreational Canoe Association of BC, will have you out of the canoe as much as in it, throwing ropes, swimming rapids, re-entering canoes, building anchors, and exploring different ways to set safety for difficult rapids. Even if you’ve learned some of these techniques before, the practice is priceless and is one ofΒ the best ways to increase your confidence in moving water and as a paddler.Β  Many swiftwater rescue courses are designed for firefighters and Search and Rescue operators, but fail to put these skills into the context of river canoeing.Β  We actually use canoes on these courses and apply these skills to recreational paddling, guiding, instructing, and leading groups in whitewater.Β  This is a must-have course series for anyone intending to canoe on rivers.

Looking for industry-recognized certification?Β  Our Swiftwater Canoe Rescue courses hold a 3-year expiry term with the Recreational Canoe Association of BC, and are recognized in the river guiding and instructing industry.
