Whether you’re a modern day druid, an edible wild mushroom connoisseur, or just enjoy an autumn walk in the woods, come out for a day of wild-mushroom hunting in the Okanagan! We offer two types of tours to satisfy your fungi fascination. Private mushroom tours can be arranged for your school group, family, work colleagues, or other group! Please contact us for a quote.

Basic Wild Mushroom Identification Tour (3 hrs)

Our half day tours will provide attendees with basic knowledge to get started in identifying mushrooms. Bring your ID books, your cameras, and get started with the basics!

Our experienced guides are happy to answer any questions you have about our beautiful wild mushrooms in British Columbia.

Half day tours will take place east of Lumby, BC towards Mabel Lake. The location for the meeting spot will be provided within the week of the tour. 

All tours are rain or shine, please dress accordingly. Tours are held outdoors and require a reasonable level of fitness to walk on uneven and non-flat terrain. Participants must provide their own transportation.

Full Day Wild Mushroom Identification Tour

This full day tour is an immersive introduction to mushroom identification. We will visit at least two spots to find some of the more common, delectable species between Lumby and the wild forests of the Monashee.

Our wild mushroom tours are held in the autumn every year and start at 9am and finish by 3pm. The location for the meeting spot will be provided within the week of the tour. You can expect to drive beyond Lumby towards Mabel Lake. Please expect to provide your transportation.

Please note, this is not a mushroom picking tour, but a great way to learn the basics about mushrooms, and how to use an identification guidebook.

Mushroom Tasting Add-On

ADD-ON AVAILABLE TO FULL DAY TOUR PARTICIPANTS ONLY

Sample a selection of wild mushrooms previously harvested in BC. Amanda of Forest & Food Fixation will teach you her tips and tricks of wild mushroom preparation and cooking. Local, artisan, wild – a delicious snack served with fresh baked artisan bread. We cannot accommodate dietary restrictions. Tasting will take place at the end of the tour and will wrap up about 4 pm.
