Lake Canoeing Lessons
Our Lake Canoeing Lessons are designed to help you build a foundation of skills and knowledge before venturing out on your own expedition. Whether it’s packing tips, stroke improvement or rescue skills, we tailor each class to the learning needs and levels of the participants.
Building and enhancing competence in canoeing skills will help you to relax and enjoy the incredible freedom that wilderness canoeing has to offer.
On select weekend mornings throughout summer, we offer these Lake Canoeing Courses and welcome paddlers of all ages. Check for exact dates below.
Elements Adventure Company clinics are based out of Vernon, BC, located at the north end of the Okanagan Valley. We are easily accessible along HWY 97 from anywhere else you may be staying in the Okanagan. Driving distances from a few other popular places are:
- From Kelowna: 50 km
- From Penticton: 113 km
- From Kamloops: 116 km
- From Revelstoke: 147 km
Depending on local weather conditions, we will choose a location in the Vernon area. Most courses are held on Swan Lake, where Meadowlark road dead-ends into the lake., just off Hwy 97, North of Vernon, BC.
One lake canoeing lesson is $79 + 5% gst per person for a 3-hr course and includes all paddling equipment. If you bring your own equipment, the fee is only $65 + gst per person. Sign up for yourself or your family today. As us about group rates.
All paddling equipment that you need for your canoeing lesson is included. Please come prepared with sun protection such as a sun hat, sun screen, sun glasses, water, snacks, and a change of clothes for after that unexpected swim!

Most canoe lessons run on Saturdays or Sundays from 9 am to noon, so you have the rest of the day to go paddling on your own and practice what you’ve learned.
Ask us about booking a private course for your family or friends. We can accommodate any paddling level and cover specific topics to help you learn the basics or prepare for an upcoming expedition.
